Well Designed Sites

http://www.netflix.com Very accessible, functional, and easy to navigate. Very thorough, but not cluddered.

http://www.nba.com Very complete info, easy to navigate, good organization

http://www.google.com Easy to use, simple, powerful, no bothersome extras. Just a solid engine

http://www.imdb.com Most comprehensive site on all things film and television, past present and future. Many great links, pictures, bios, dates for actors, movies, directors, producers, etc. Easy to navigate.

Poorly Designed Sites

http://sports.espn.go.com Too cluddered and too many banners for a site where most people just want to check game scores

http://www.peabody.jhu.edu Overall, not a bad design, but seems geared toward outsider visitors, not students. For example, I have to click on too many links to login to Student Web Services.

http://www.baltimoresun.com Too cluddered and never seems to have very much local news at the forefront of the home page.

http://www.insidehoops.com Slow loading, very primitive appearance, just satisfactory organization.

Web Pages I like and dislike

I like www.cnn.com because the links to different parts of the site are easy to access on the left, links to important current happenings on the right, and usually one main news story in the middle.

I don't like www.yahoo.com because there are too many divisions and links on the home page. It's too 'busy.'

I prefer google as a search engine because the page is very clean and easy to use.
