The CS Czars for 2006-2007 are:
To subscribe to a CSmailing list, for example one named coolcats, send an email to majordomo@cs with the message:
That will either subscribe you or email the list owner asking for you to be added. For example, the “masters” list requires approval from the list owner, whereas most class lists don’t.
Why don’t I hear about Happy Hour, the seminars, or other grad-related events?
If you are a masters student, you should be on the masters@cs list.
If you are a PhD. student, you should be on the phd@cs list.
To subscribe to these lists, follow these instructions.
Does the CS seminar meet every Thursday and Friday as scheduled by the Registrar?
No, it only meets as-announced. You should receive the announcements in your CS email account. (What lists are they sent to?) CS grad students, in years past, have been required to go to two-thirds of them.
The reason they’re scheduled by the Registrar for every Thursday and Friday is so CS students and faculty have a hole in their schedule at that time so the seminars can be scheduled then.
Check out the official schedule. Sadly it hasn’t been updated in a while.
(Thanks, Eric Perlman, for your help writing this!)
